A new park is on its way in York County. Concept plans were approved for the all new Thistle Park which will include a spot for fishing, disc golf, and hiking. Its near the old Five Points intersection in Lake Wylie which has a pond and different streams that run through it. Inside the plan it has multiple fishing banks along with a non-motorized boat access area. It also has three different spots on the map for disc golf with a pond close by. There will also be areas for restroom, picnic shelters, trails and a 3 acre dog park. There is no timeline of construction, or even a cost associated with the park. York County Public Information officer says this was just a plan to be approved so that the Parks division can now look at those other factors that include costs and development. The County administration will also work with the Bethel-Lake Wylie land Acquisition and Preservation Parks District on the concept moving forward as well
