About Us
WRHI is one of the nation’s pioneers in Radio broadcasting, leading the way with local innovative promotions, unique community based programming and cutting-edge technology. In the 1990s, WRHI became one of the earliest to stream Radio on the internet and in 2007 revolutionized AM radio as the first station in America to broadcast on an FM translator. Now in our 73rd year in business, WRHI has become more relevant than ever.
Over the past decade, WRHI has expanded listener coverage and community service throughout the York, Chester and Lancaster county area and is recognized as South Carolina’s most honored Radio station with 108 State Broadcasting Awards (SCBA). WRHI has also been selected as the Palmetto State’s Radio Station of the Year, in 7 of the last 12 years. 2011 saw WRHI receive the coveted NAB Crystal Award, naming WRHI one of the top 10 radio stations in the nation. In addition, Radio Ink magazine named WRHI as one of America’s Top Eight Broadcasters for 2009. WRHI’s philosophy is simple: Give listeners the BEST…the BEST news and information…plus the BEST promotions and sports…and the advertisers will have the BEST vehicle to market their products.
