Chris Miller
Chris Miller serves as Vice President of OTS Media. He has come full circle in his career, coming back to where he got his start. Miller is a born and raised “Rock Hillian” as he graduated from both Northwestern High School and Winthrop University. He began working with Our Three Sons at the young age of 13 doing special events and running audio boards.
Miller’s experience includes time as an Account Executive with Citadel Broadcasting in Columbia, S.C. He then became the Marketing Director and Senior Account Executive with Cox Radio in Greenville, S.C. After his time with Cox, Miller became the General Sales Manager for Cumulus Media’s five-station cluster in Fayetteville, N.C.
Chris has completed the RAB Sales Training Academy and was named the “Top Gun” for the class, as the highest performing graduate. Chris is a graduate of “The Center for Sales Strategy’s,” Customer-Focused Selling, “The Marketing Pro,” and “The Agency Pro.” Chris’s philosophy: “There is no stronger power than local Radio at its roots. We influence thousands of people daily with our unique programming and ability to inform the community. This helps our advertisers grow by reaching a large and very loyal audience.”
In the August 26, 2013 edition of “Radio Ink” Magazine, Chris was named one of the top 30 people in radio, nationwide, under the age of 40. In 2010, Chris joined the OTS Silver Club for excellence in radio sales and in 2011 Chris became just the 10th member of the OTS “Gold Club” for excellence in radio sales. In 2012, Chris was named to the pinnacle of media sales with OTS as he became only the 5th member of the Platinum Club for excellence in radio sales, in doing so Chris reached the Platinum level quicker than anyone in the company’s nearly 75 year history.
Chris is a two-time (2015 and 2011) winner of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Star Award for Statewide Radio Commercial of the Year. These awards showcase his commercial writing talents.
Outside of sales for WRHI and Interstate 107, Chris handles play by play for high school football, basketball, and baseball. Miller can be heard on WRHI and Interstate 107 every morning as the Sports Anchor and is the host of the station group’s special sports events. Chris has been named South Carolina Statewide Sportscaster of the Year for a record breaking 13 years in a row (2010-2023). In 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 Chris won a “Buzzie” from readers of The Herald as the Top Sportscaster in the area. Chris is a 6-time winner of the Statewide Convergence coverage award for his broadcasting of State Championship football games in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2015, 2021, 2022. You can also find Chris’ stories present on WRHI.com. He has received the Star Award for his work on WRHI.com with the Statewide Radio website of the year for the last five years (2013-2017). In 2021 Chris became the first OTS Sports Broadcaster to broadcast 350 games for the OTS Sports Network and in the same year was inducted into the OTS Sports Wall of Fame (becoming the youngest member to join the elite group).
Miller has served as an adjunct professor at Winthrop University, teaching Media Sales in the College of Arts and Sciences. On Saturday’s during the fall you can hear Chris as The Network Host on the statewide South Carolina Gamecocks’ Radio Network.
Chris is active in the community through a number of different boards and committees. He currently serves or has served in the following positions: United Way of York County Board of Directors, York County Sports Hall of Fame Steering Committee, North Rock Hill Church Disciple Group Leader, South Carolina Broadcasters’ Association Board of Directors, South Carolina Broadcasters’ Association STAR Awards Chair, Boys and Girls Club of York County Board of Directors, Winthrop University Community Business Council, Touchdown Club, Winthrop University Electronic Media Advisory Board, Youth Sports Coach, Winthrop Eagle Club, Come See Me Festival Board of Governors, Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen Board of Directors Vice Chair and Leadership York County Class of 2011 Marketing Chair.
Chris is a graduate of Winthrop University where he received the Department of Mass Communication’s highest honor by being named the “Most Outstanding Senior in Broadcasting”.
Outside of work; Chris loves anything sports and is a fan of Gamecock football, the Carolina Panthers, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Winthrop Eagles. Chris and his 9 year old son, John Parker, live in Rock Hill.
