York County lifts stop order on Silfab Solar and construction has resumed

Construction has resumed at Silfab Solar in Fort Mill. It comes after a short pause when York County placed a stop worker order on the company. Investigators said they saw employees on the property who were not permitted to be there. After receiving the complaint, the county sent a building inspector and fire marshal to Silfab regarding the matter. After an inspection Friday, York County said Silfab was back in compliance and operations picked back up. A statement was also sent by Silfab Friday evening to confirm the action. The solar manufacturing facility on logistics lane hopes to create 800 new jobs when fully operational.
