Winthrop will not allow fans at basketball games for remainder of 2020
Winthrop Athletics has made the decision to not host any spectators at the Coliseum for the remainder of 2020, due to the ongoing pandemic.
The decision impacts the conference opening games for women’s basketball on Dec 17/18, the men’s basketball non conference game on Dec 19 and the men’s home conference opening games on Dec 30/31.
If fans are allowed in 2021, all tickets will be sold on a single-game basis. Priority will be provided for current Eagle Club members, former season ticket holders, and students as well as family members of the programs. Season ticket plans will not be available.
Fans who have already purchased season tickets can use that money as a one time gift to the Eagle Club, use the money towards season tickets for next year or get a full refund.
Fan attendance will be re-evaluated on a periodic basis based on guidelines regarding safe events and competition from local and state authorities and Winthrop University.
