A York County woman is running for the US Senate seat currently held by Republican Tim Scott.
Jill Bossi lives in Tega Cay, and serves as the vice president and chief procurement officer for the American Red Cross.
Bossi is running as an American Party candidate.
During her online announcement, Bossi said she is tired of politics as usual in Washington D.C.
“The right and the left have gone too far apart,” Bossi said, “and we have to come together again.”
“We have to come together for so many reasons,” she added, “for our children, for our grandchildren and for the future of our great nation.”
Bossi says she decided to run as an American Party candidate because she believes in the party’s core principles.
She says her priorities include finding smarter solutions to jump starting the economy and putting Americans back to work, along with passing comprehensive tax reform for individuals and companies by simplifying the tax code.
