Leading into this weekend’s S.C. Strawberry Festival in Fort Mill, three area women were crowed this weekend as the queens of the festival.
The 2013 queens include Liza Walker, in the Teen Division; Halle Hillman in the Miss Division, and Dana Boutwell in the Mrs. Division.
The pageant was held at Nation Ford High School on April 27 and hosted by Patti Mercer and Rance Adams, host of WCCB News Edge in Charlotte.
Prizes were also awarded to first runners-up Maria Teal, Teen; Sarah Margaret McGuirt, Miss; and Monika Zimmerman, Mrs.
Miss contestant Holly Hunt was recognized as the night’s “Sweetest Berry” and Miss contestant Austen Phillips was the People’s Choice winner.
Winners of the South Carolina Strawberry Festival poster contest were also announced at the pageant.
Winners of the Youth Division were Elli Barnette, first place; and Savannah Ray and Crystal Williams with a second place tie. Winners in the Open Division were Bethany Hadden, first place; Debbie Whitsett, second place; and Katie Koeing, third place.
The fourth annual South Carolina Strawberry Festival will take place May 3 and 4. The new queens will make their first appearance at the festival.
