Tuesday was Meet the Stars night as celebrities participating in the February 23rd Fort Mill Dancing with the Stars competition turned out at Dance Center, USA.

The second annual dance event will raise money for middle school sports in Fort Mill, which funding was eliminated during school district budget cuts.

The programs were saved by parents and community members who raise $60,000 each year.  Gynecologist Ansley Hilton says that’s why she’s participating in the Dancing with the Stars competition.

That’s also why Tega Cay Mayor George Sheppard is involved.

Orthodontist Doctor Michael Riordan says if he has to embarrass himself to support kids in the community, he is okay with it.

The other celebrity dancers will be Nation Ford High School football coach Michael Allen and York County Coroner Sabrina Gast.

It’s estimated that more than 1,200 middle school students in Fort Mill participate in organized sports.
