Gettys to run for another term for Mayor of Rock Hill in November

The current Mayor of Rock Hill has announced that he will run again this fall for another term. John Gettys has held the position since he was first elected back in 2017. He had previously served on Rock Hill City Council in the early 2000’s before taking some time off from politics for family and his growing law firm. He is a founding partner of the Morton and Gettys Law Firm in Rock Hill. Since becoming Mayor, John led the delegation that resulted in Rock Hill being named an All-America City in 2019. So far the race for Mayor now includes Gettys and William “Bump” Roddey who previously opposed Gettys in 2017 and 2021.
