The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating its second homicide of the weekend, following a fatal shooting at a Fort Mill motel early Sunday morning. One person died in the incident, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Motel 6, located at 3541 Foothills Way, near Carowinds Boulevard.

Deputies quickly responded to the scene and have since taken one person of interest into custody for questioning in connection with the shooting. Authorities have confirmed that no other individuals were injured during the incident. The case remains under active investigation by the York County Sheriff’s Office.

This Fort Mill shooting marks the second deadly incident deputies have responded to in York County over the past weekend. On Saturday, deputies launched a separate homicide investigation into a death that occurred overnight on Paddlers Cove Drive in Clover. In connection with the Clover shooting, 19-year-old Noah Immanuel Walter has been arrested and faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Both homicide investigations are ongoing as law enforcement officials work to uncover the full details surrounding these tragic events.
