One Dead, Several Students Injured as Bus Flips On I-77 South
A person has died, and several students were hurt after a blown tire caused a school bus to flip while returning home from a field trip on Interstate 77 South in Chester County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The crash happened after 2 p.m. near Exit 55 (Highway 97) and all southbound lanes were blocked. Two EMS and fire Teams responded as mutual aid to the rescue. Five medical helicopters responded to the scene. The buses are from the Lexington County Schools District 2. No additional details have been made available.
