Chester rescinds bond then votes to approve a new one; includes upgrades to Great Falls and two new high schools

The Chester County School board held a special meeting Monday and voted 6-1 to rescind a previous vote last week on the $200 million bond referendum. They then voted to approve a separate referendum in the amount of $227 million which will now include additions to Great Falls High, mainly a new gym, labs, and spaces for band and ROTC. The new bond total like the previous one, still includes new schools for Lewisville and Chester High. The resolution also includes money for capital improvement funds to go towards auditoriums and new gyms at both schools. More on this story with audio later Tuesday on news
