Chester man gets 17 years for murder from an incident 3 years ago

Per the Chester News and Reporter, a man was charged with murder in the shooting death from an incident in October of 2021. Sundrez Gregory shot Wayne Caldwell at a gathering in Chester on that date. Gregory pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter on Wednesday. He had initially sought immunity under the stand your ground exception but was denied by a Circuit courg judge. The sentence was 17 years in prison with already having served over 1,000 days in the Chester County Detention Center.
