Barfield Shooting Suspect Arrested

A man is facing charges after a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office employee was shot Wednesday night. The department’s staff attorney and public information officer Doug Barfield was shot in Kershaw while off duty Wednesday night. He has been released from the hospital and is expected to fully recover. Twenty-three-year-old Tyrone Gifford is charged with two counts of attempted murder.
