Rock Hill schools evaluate Super; extends contract to 2026

The Board of Trustees of the Rock Hill School District gave an evaluation of the first nineteen months of Superintendent Dr,Tommy Schmolze. It was announced as well that the board is extending the contract of the superintendent to June of 2026. The past year’s accomplishments, per the board include presenting a balanced budget, leading the statewide implementation of paid parental leave for all staff, initiating a no-cost to the taxpayers rebuild of Sunset Park elementary as well as providing no cost breakfast and lunch to all students in the budget. The board said they also look forward to better communication with stakeholders, an improved website, and app and continue to foster positive relationships with local media outlets.
