Six individuals were arrested Tuesday, May 6, after a narcotics search warrant was executed at a residence on Crestfield Drive in Lancaster, just a short distance from the University of South Carolina–Lancaster campus.

The operation was led by the Lancaster County Multijurisdictional Narcotics Task Force, with assistance from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Street Crimes Unit. Investigators had made two controlled purchases of suspected methamphetamine from Scott Veld Duncan, 54, in recent weeks, prompting the issuance of the warrant.

When officers arrived at 1405 Crestfield Drive early Tuesday morning, Scott Duncan; his daughter, Samantha Kay Duncan, 33; Brittney Lynn Carnevale, 33; and James Justin Walters, 43, were found inside the home. Two others—Jessica Denese Sims, 35, and George Junior Twitty II, 43—were located in a camper on the property. All six were detained and later arrested.

During the search, deputies discovered suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, gabapentin, trazodone, and marijuana across multiple locations, including on individuals and in personal belongings. A digital scale was also recovered.

Scott Duncan was charged with two counts of distribution of methamphetamine and two counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance in proximity to a school, based on the controlled buys. Additional charges from the search include possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of gabapentin without a prescription, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and another count of possession with intent to distribute in proximity to a school. He remains at the Lancaster County Detention Center on a total bond of $87,500.

Samantha Duncan was charged with possession of more than two grains of fentanyl and remains in custody on a $2,500 bond. She was also served with a General Sessions bench warrant for failing to appear in court on a shoplifting charge.

The four other individuals were charged as follows:

  • Brittney Carnevale: Possession of methamphetamine; released on a $2,000 bond.

  • Jessica Sims: Possession of trazodone; released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

  • George Twitty II: Possession of methamphetamine; held on a $3,000 bond with a detainer from Rock Hill Police for a driving offense.

  • James Walters: Two counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of contraband after methamphetamine was discovered during booking. Held on a $26,000 bond with a detainer from Union County, North Carolina, for a probation violation.

“This address was very familiar to us, and we have been getting complaints about drug activity there for some time,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “Our Task Force investigators put together a very successful operation to make buys from Scott Duncan and get enough evidence for a search warrant. We were a little surprised about the number of people on the property when the drugs were found and are pleased we could make the charges we did.”
