Chet Tucker has been named the sideline reporter for the 2023 South Carolina Football Radio Network broadcasts, Liz McMillan, Executive Director of Gamecock Sports Properties announced today.

The Gamecock alum was a placekicker/punter on the Carolina football squad in the late 1990s, including a stint as the starting placekicker at the end of the 1998 season while playing for head coach Brad Scott.

Chet has served as a broadcaster on the OTS Sports Network since 2015 serving as a play by play voice, color analyst, and sideline reporter. Among his accolades include multiple state championship game broadcasts. In 2022, Tucker joined OTS Sports Broadcaster and Gamecocks Radio Network Host, Chris Miller, as pre and post-game host on the Gamecocks Radio Network.  This season, Tucker will continue his pre and post game duties alongside Miller in addition to the in game sideline reporter job.

Miller and Tucker are joined by Gamecocks Hall Of Famers Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs on the network broadcasts. Ellis, the all-time leading passer in Gamecock history, is in his 32nd season with the network and his 21st as the play-by-play voice of Carolina Football. Suggs, a former standout Gamecock quarterback, is back for his 51st year with the radio network as the color analyst.

The Gamecocks Radio Network is heard on 24 Radio Stations around the state, including WRHM and WVSZ (Interstate 107). The first broadcast of the season is September 2nd at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte against North Carolina.  Pre-Game coverage starts at 4:30p on Interstate 107!
