Winthrop Falls In Big South Championship Game

In spite of a ten point lead at halftime, the Winthrop Eagles fell to the High Point Panthers Sunday, 81-69. High Point down by as many as 15 points went on a 52-30 2nd half run to punch their ticket to their first ever Big South Conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament appearance. High Point is being projected as a #14 seed as Big South Conference champions in the upcoming tournament.The Eagles finish with a 23-12 record.
