SC-DHEC this afternoon announced an 89% recovery rate from COVID-19. The number is 4 percentage points higher than the 85% reported on Friday.

47,214 cases have been reported since the pandemic began. This means there are 5,101 active cases of COVID-19 in South Carolina, 41,275 people have recovered and 838 people have died. The statewide death rate is 1.7%.

934 new cases of the coronavirus were also announced by SC-DHEC. 30 of those are from York County, 3 are from Lancaster and 2 are from Chester County. 4,521 people were tested for the virus on Monday and 20.7% were positive.

SC-DHEC also announced 19 additional deaths. 17 were in elderly individuals and 2 were in middle-aged individuals. The death total is now 838.
