York County Runoff Results
Michael Johnson, Tom Audette and Brandon Guffey won their respective Republican runoffs last evening. Johnson defeated Tom Nichols and will represent the GOP Party in the election for S.C. Senate seat 16 in November.
Johnson finished with 4,686 votes (54.81%) and Nichols had 3,864 votes (45.19%). He will take on Democrat Ram Mammadov in November.
Audette defeated Debi Cloninger in the runoff for York County Council District #1 by a count of 1,784 (52.27%) to 1,629 (47.73%). Audette will oppose Democrat Kristin Thomas in the November election.
Brandon Guffey finished with 60% of the vote defeating incumbent Britt Blackwell in a winner take all election. Guffey will represent District #6 on Council in January.
The County’s voter turnout was 8.75%.
