Pets of the Week: Cynthia and Bibby Await Their Forever Homes

FORT MILL, S.C. — The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) has named Cynthia the Cat and Bibby the Dog as this week’s featured pets, both seeking loving homes after time spent in the shelter.
Cynthia: A Striking New Arrival
Cynthia, a one-year-old cat with a jet-black coat and orange eyes, came to HSYC from Animal Control. She is described as adjusting well to her new environment and enjoys the company of other cats in the shelter’s Cat Room. Cynthia is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested, making her ready for adoption.
Those interested in meeting Cynthia can call 803-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Adoption requirements and details are available at humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org.
Bibby: A Loyal Companion Waiting Too Long
Bibby, a 5-year-old dog believed to have Treeing Walker Coonhound traits, has been at HSYC for over four years. Originally from Animal Control, Bibby weighs around 55-60 pounds and is known for his playful and energetic personality. Despite his long stay, he remains eager for walks and bonds closely with those he trusts.
Bibby requires a home without young children or other pets and will benefit from an active household. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested.
Potential adopters can call 803-802-0902 to meet Bibby. More information is available at thehsyc.org.
Community Support Needed
In addition to promoting adoptions, HSYC is seeking community help during the busy kitten season. The shelter encourages fostering, volunteering, and donations of essential supplies such as clay cat litter, baby food, bleach, laundry detergent, and dog treats.
HSYC has also introduced a “Seniors for Seniors” adoption program and reports 74 dogs and 244 cats have been adopted in 2025 to date. For more information on fostering, donating, or volunteering, visit humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org.
