Coronavirus cases in South Carolina have surpassed 11,000 (11,131) after SC-DHEC on Friday announced 331 new cases. 14 of those cases are from York County while Lancaster and Chester County had 3 new cases a piece. York County now has 385 cases, Lancaster County has 129 and Chester County has 62. 5,361 tests were performed on Thursday (5/28) and 6.2% of people tested positive. The recovery rate for the virus is 85%.

13 additional deaths were also reported by SC-DHEC. 8 occurred in elderly individuals from Berkeley, Darlington, Fairfield, Florence (2), Greenville, Horry and Spartanburg counties. The other 5 occurred in middle-aged individuals from Florence, Laurens, Lee, Saluda and Williamsburg counties. The death total is now 483.

A total of 194, 047 tests have been conducted around the state and there are 98 mobile testing events scheduled through 7/2.
