Three York County Council hopefuls will appear on the November 6th ballot as petition candidates because the State Supreme Court ruled that they had not complied with state law in filing financial records. 

That has made things more difficult for the Democratic and Republican parties who in some cases are finding themselves unable to support their parties’ nominees.

However, York County Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Calkins says something good may come out of the whole ordeal.

York County Republican Party Chairman Glenn McCall says two of the candidates running for county council as petition candidates are members of the GOP.

McCall says he’s having to treat the two races where petition candidates are running against Republican candidates as primaries.
