Officer treated after pit bull bite
A Rock Hill police officer was treated for lacerations to his arm after he was bitten by 60 pound dog on Wednesday night.
A police report says the officer was flagged down by a man on Adams Street in reference to a suspicious person.
As the officer met with the man, the man’s pit bull broke lose from the man’s porch, lunging at the 25-year-old officer and biting his arm.
The report says the officer kicked and punched the dog until the dog’s owner pulled the dog off. The officer was treated at Riverview Medical Center.
The dog was put into quarantine pending a rabies vaccination check. The report says the officer’s wounds were approximately 2 1/2 inches long and 1/4 in. deep.
