A former Winthrop employee was sentenced today to four years in prison for breach of trust using university credit cards.
[media-credit name=”THE JOHNSONIAN” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]47-year-old George Walker, the former head of the Winthrop’s Printing Services office, pleaded guilty to two counts of defrauding the school after investigators say he stole more than 200-thousand dollars over two years.
Walker was arrested in September of 2010 after an internal audit found abnormal charges coming from the office, which apparently were made via a personal PayPal account.
Walker resigned from his post in April of 2010. He’ll be eligible for parole in two years.
