NAACP to talk minority unemployment before county council
The Rock Hill NAACP says it will make a second appearance before the York County Council Monday to talk about the lack of minorities working in county government.
A news release sent out by branch president Melvin Poole says the initial appearance before the county council last September, “has been ignored by the council and no feedback was offered.”
Poole told the council then that York County’s minority employment numbers are lower than those in neighboring counties and similar-size counties.

The news release sent out today says the civil rights group will issue what it calls a much stronger appeal Monday night and outline steps that will be taken if the council is once again unresponsive to the minority community.
