SLED investigating after body found in the Catawba River
The body of a man was found in York County Tuesday near the Catawba River. Deputies had received a report earlier Monday about the man acting in a strange manner then fleeing into a marshy area near the New-Indy Containerboard plant along the river.
A SLED helicopter located the man’s body in a marshy area along the river near Cureton Ferry Road. Foul play is not suspected but a death investigation remains ongoing by the sheriff’s office and SLED.
