Rock Hill High School announces the hiring of three new head coaches: Cesar Robles, David Willis and Scott Neely.

Boys Soccer

Cesar Robles is the new Head Boys’ Soccer Coach. Coach Robles has been the Head Girls Soccer Coach at Northwestern for the past ten years before stepping down to take the Bearcat job. He is currently the Girls Director of Coaching with the Discoveries Soccer Club and employed in the technology department with Rock Hill School District Three. While at Northwestern, he was the Region III AAAA Head Coach of the Year in 2005, 2012, and 2013, and was selected to coach in the N/S All Star Game in 2012. Coach Robles replaces Wayne Clark, who stepped down after four years with the Bearcat program.

“We are excited to add Cesar Robles as our head boys’ soccer coach. He brings leadership and experience to our soccer team. His ability to teach fundamentals and integrate tactical strategies into the game are his strong points as a coach. We welcome him to the Bearcat family.”

 

Cross Country

David Willis is the new Head Cross Country Coach for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. Coach Willis is a graduate of Fort Mill HS where he was a member of the 2006 Cross Country State Team and the 2007 Track State Runner-up team. He ran both Cross Country and track at Eastern Kentucky where he participated on a four time conference championship team. Coach Willis assisted with the Rock Hill High Track team in the spring coaching the distance runners. He replaces Coach Lu Reeves who stepped down after one year as head coach.

“Coach David Willis is a motivator of kids. His work ethic to succeed is second to none and our teams will benefit for his drive for improvement. He brings to Rock Hill Cross Country an enthusiasm to run. We are proud to add him to our staff.”

 

Boys Tennis

Scott Neely is the new Boys Tennis coach. Coach Neely replaces Christine Wesson who will step down to concentrate on the girls team. Coach Neely assisted Coach Wesson last year with both the girls and boys teams. He is a current teacher at RHHS.

“Coach Neely has a great rapport with the boys and will do a great job as an instructional teacher of the game. We are glad to continue to have him coach Tennis and confident in the move to head coach.”
