GALLERY: July 6 flooding at Riverwalk, River Park and the Lake Wylie Dam
Another round of heavy rains drenching the Carolinas have landed millions of additional gallons of water in the Catawba River Basin.
Following the heavy rains, the water slowly makes it way to the Atlantic Ocean via the Catawba, and a system of dams operated by Duke Energy.
The bulk of the extra rainwater has yet to make it to York County — but already, the three public access points in the county on the Catawba are overflowing, leading to the closure of many facilities.
On July 6, eight people were rescued from the Catawba east of Rock Hill, despite warnings advising otherwise.
These photos were taken that afternoon.
