After 28 years of service on the Rock Hill City Council, Jim Reno has announced he will not be seeking reelection. In a press release, Reno said that he has been honored and blessed to serve Ward 6 in helping more Rock Hill forward, while helping residents in many different ways. He called City Management and Department heads and all City employees “truly special individuals who care deeply about the City, its residents and the well being of the community.” Reno says, “at this time in his life as he evaluates next steps with his family and career, it seems best to step aside.” Reno will serve out his term on Rock Hill City Council which comes to an end in December. Currently only Nate Mallard has registered to run for the seat at this time.
