Community minded David Vipperman is awarded the Order of the Palmetto

A long time community member in Rock Hill was honored with the Order of the Palmetto Thursday. David Vipperman was presented the recognition by Gov Henry McMaster. The award is the highest a South Carolina resident can receive. Vipperman is a US Air Force veteran and former Vietnam War pilot. He worked with the Department of Education as well as the Rock Hill School District and developed the Applied Technology Center. He later worked in banking and real estate. Vipperman also served on York County Council and the Winthrop Board of Trustees. He also was at one time was part of the Rock Hill York County Airport Commission, the Arts Council and worked with other non profit organizations and agencies.
