SCHNEEBERGER to Open First South Carolina Facility in York County, Bringing 101 Jobs

ROCK HILL, S.C. – SCHNEEBERGER, a Switzerland-based manufacturer of precision linear technology, has selected York County as the location for its first South Carolina operation. The $3.2 million investment will create 101 new jobs over the next five years.
The company will lease a 42,000-square-foot facility at 656 Red River Road in Rock Hill. The site will become SCHNEEBERGER’s first mineral cast production facility in the United States, supporting customers in the electronics, medical device, and packaging industries. Operations are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Founded in 1923, SCHNEEBERGER specializes in high-precision components such as linear bearings and gear racks. The company emphasized Rock Hill’s skilled workforce and technical training infrastructure as key factors in its decision.
“We are thrilled to announce that for the first time, our company will establish mineral cast manufacturing operations in the United States — in Rock Hill, South Carolina,” said SCHNEEBERGER Mineralcast President and General Manager George Blaha.
Local and state officials welcomed the announcement as a sign of continuing growth in South Carolina’s manufacturing sector.
“SCHNEEBERGER’s $3.2 million investment and 101 new jobs will strengthen York County’s economy and support local families,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits to support the project.
