Rock Hill to Welcome Whataburger in 2026

ROCK HILL, SC – Whataburger, the popular Texas-based fast-food chain, has announced plans to open its first location in York County. The new restaurant will be situated in Rock Hill, with a tentative opening scheduled for spring 2026.
As reported by The Post and Courier, the new Whataburger will take over the former O’Charley’s site at 2265 Cross Pointe Drive.
The menu features a wide array of classic burgers, including options to triple-stack, alongside a selection of chicken sandwiches. Customers can anticipate popular items such as the sweet and spicy bacon burger, Whataburger patty melt, and the honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich. Specialty options will include the signature avocado bacon burger and the jalapeño and cheese bacon burger.
Beyond burgers and chicken, Whataburger also offers Boneless Chicken Nugget bundles, known as Whatawings, served with various sauces including honey BBQ, honey butter, buffalo, and sweet and spicy. Breakfast offerings will feature pancakes, burritos, and biscuit sandwiches.
This Rock Hill location will expand Whataburger’s presence in South Carolina, where it currently operates 11 restaurants, with the closest being in Columbia and Spartanburg. The chain also has plans for two additional restaurants in the Charlotte area.
