Rock Hill Hooters Closes Amid National Company Restructuring

Hooters, the well-known sports bar and restaurant chain, has closed dozens of its locations across the country, including its Rock Hill establishment. This move comes as the company navigates financial challenges and shifts towards a franchise-based business model.
More than 30 Hooters restaurants have shuttered across several states, including South Carolina. The Rock Hill location is one of two in the state affected by these closures, with the Columbia restaurant also ceasing operations. Other states experiencing closures include Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
The company filed for bankruptcy in March, indicating at the time its intention to streamline operations. Hooters later clarified that the decision to close company-owned locations, though difficult, is part of a strategic transition to a pure franchise business model. The company expressed its commitment to supporting impacted team members during this period and thanked loyal customers for their dedication.
