Credit Union out of Spartanburg announces merger with Founders Federal

VITAL Federal Credit Union members voted “yes” to begin a merger with Founders Federal Credit Union late last month. On Friday, September 12, VITAL Federal Credit Union office (1450 John B. White Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29306) will close and reopen Monday, September 15 as Founders Federal Credit Union.
Founders Federal Credit Union CEO, Bruce Brumfield stated his commitment to the merger transition being as easy and seamless as possible for VITAL members and employees. Founders was founded in 1950 in Fort Mill, South Carolina to provide financial services to the employees of Springs Industries, Inc. Founders now serves over 276,000 members with 45 locations in North and South Carolina. The credit union has over $4.8 billion in assets. As for Vital, they have just the one location in Spartanburg serving 6,000 members and have $57 million in assets.
