In the early morning hours of Sunday, there was an attempted murder in Rock Hill. Police responded to Piedmont Medical Center just after 5:30 AM when a 41 year old male walked into the ER with an apparent gunshot wound to his hip. The victim said the incident happened on Simpson St and that Ron McClurkin shot him. Officers went to the residence on Simpson Street where they observed two males inside. Neither male answered the door nor exited the residence when requested. Police entered and removed the males without incident. McClurkin, 54 of Rock Hill, was taken into custody by officers. He has since been charged with attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a crime of violence. The only other thing that’s been revealed from the investigation that the shooting happened after a verbal dispute between the two men.
