Trader Joe’s Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon Recalled in SC and Other States Due to Undeclared Allergen

A limited quantity of Trader Joe’s Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon, sold in stores across more than a dozen states including South Carolina, has been voluntarily recalled by Taylor Fresh Foods due to a packaging error that poses a risk to certain consumers.
According to a recall notice issued April 29th by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, approximately 500 units of the salad were “mistakenly packaged” with a packet of parmesan cheese crumbles instead of crispy onions. This error resulted in the undeclared presence of milk, a known allergen that can cause serious adverse reactions in individuals with milk sensitivities or allergies.
The recalled product has a UPC code of 00773164 and a “Use By” date of either April 28 or April 29, 2025. These affected salads were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores in Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. No other Trader Joe’s products are part of this recall.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Trader Joe’s Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon and have a milk allergy are strongly advised to discard the product immediately. As of April 28th, no allergic reactions have been reported in connection with this recall.
