Fort Mill, South Carolina, has been named the 7th fastest-growing suburb in the United States, according to a recent study by GOBankingRates. The town experienced a remarkable 77.6% population increase between 2018 and 2023, highlighting its rapid development and appeal to new residents.

The study also notes that the median household income in Fort Mill stands at $127,537, surpassing the estimated $121,572 needed to live comfortably in the area. The average home value is reported at $527,953, with an annual cost of living totaling approximately $60,786.

 

Fort Mill’s growth is attributed to its proximity to Charlotte, North Carolina, offering residents easy access to a major metropolitan area while enjoying the benefits of suburban living. The town is also recognized for its strong educational system, with the Fort Mill School District ranking 11th nationally in a separate GOBankingRates study.
