Clemson University freshman and South Pointe High School alumnus Garrett Brown is making a name for himself in track and field. This weekend, at the Clemson University Tiger Paw Invite, Brown delivered a pair of stunning performances, including a near-victory in the 3000m.

Brown blazed through the 3000m run, finishing in a personal best time of 8:04.68 and taking a very impressive 2nd place overall. This remarkable feat catapulted him to the No. 6 spot on Clemson’s all-time list for the 3k. Not content with just one strong showing, he also demonstrated his versatility by taking 4th place in the mile with a time of 4:05.43, which qualifies him for the ACC championships.

The fact that Brown is just a freshman makes his accomplishments even more remarkable. His hard work and talent are clearly paying dividends, marking him as a serious contender for future success.

A graduate of South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, Brown was a dominant runner in his high school days. He capped off his senior year with a commanding victory in the 2023 4A state cross-country meet, hinting at the achievements to come at the collegiate level.
