A Rock Hill teen has been sentenced after pleading guilty to reckless homicide in the death of a 15 year old girl. The incident happened last July when the boy sentenced, who was 16 at the time, crashed his car into a golf cart and was driving 68 in a 25 mile per hour zone. The incident took the life of Marlie Sullivan while three others were hurt. Per the solicitor’s office, the teen responsible is currently 17 and his sentence could end at age 21 which was the maximum he could have received. 16th Circuit Solicitor Matthew Shelton said the teen wills serve detention in the Department of Juvenile Justice. It was handed down by judge Jan Bromell Holmes. The Judge making a comment saying she “wanted this to be a message to the community that this behavior is not acceptable.” The name of the teen nor the other passengers in the cart have not been revealed due to age.
