Piedmont Medical Center Celebrates 5,000 Robotic Surguries

Piedmont Medical Center Rock Hill celebrated a high mark milestone in surgery Wednesday. Piedmont had surgeons, staff, and leaders gathered to recognize 5,000 robotic surgeries using the Da Vinci Robotic System. The first surgery using the robotic system was in 2014. Dr.Alex Espinal says they are less pain and less blood for the patients. The recovery time is also quicker. Roughly three out of four prostate cancer surgeries in the U.S. today are performed using da Vinci Surgery.
