The driver of a pickup truck died over the weekend after crashing into a semi truck that was attempting a u-turn on a Lancaster County road. At around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, police say a Ford Ranger pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer on Flat Creek Road at Pit-A-Tat Road eight miles north of the city of Lancaster. The driver of the Ford was headed east on Flat Creek Road and the driver of the semi truck was traveling west before trying to make a u-turn at the intersection, according to officials. The driver of the Ford reportedly crashed into the semi truck while it was trying to turn and was not publicly identified as they were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said in a release Sunday morning. The driver of the semi truck was not injured in the crash. No other people were in the pickup truck or semi truck at the time of the crash, officials said. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
