Police officer put on leave after a physical incident with a man outside a grocery store last week
A Rock Hill police officer has been put on administrative leave after a man got lacerations before being taken into custody last week. Rock Hill PD has put out a statement that they have started an internal review regarding the incident. In what’s being described as a “use of force” took place December the 6th outside the Public on Cherry Road. A man was asked to leave the property by management which led to an officer responding trying to take the man into custody. In a video shown from social media and put out by WCNC, the officer appears to hit the man repeatedly outside the store. That man was then taken to Piedmont for treatment before being put back in police custody. Per the Herald, the attorney representing the unnamed man’s family, Josh Kendrick from Greenville says he has seen the video and has concerns about the force that was used. The lawyer says they will continue to investigate what happened
