Rock Hill Police is investigating a shooting from Sunday morning
Rock Hill Police is investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning. It happened at 1195 Saluda Street just after midnight. Officers arrived finding a 21-year-old male on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS responded transporting the male to Piedmont Medical Center. Officers met with Christopher Boyd and Demetris Franklin who were on scene in a black pickup truck. They informed officers the subject who was shot tried to rob them while in the parking lot. Officers secured the area and notified the Rock Hill Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. Through the investigation, detectives then learned that Boyd and Franklin were there to sell narcotics with the person that was shot. When the male presented a handgun, Franklin then used his gun to shoot the male. Being charged in the incidents are Christopher King Boyd, 21 of Rock Hill. He is charged with Assault and Battery and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Franklin, 19, also of Rock Hill was charged with Assault and Battery and possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence. The male who was shot is still in critical condition and the investigation is ongoing.
