Morningstar and York County come to agreement on Heritage Tower
After years of legal battles back and forth, York County and Morningstar Fellowship Church have settled a dispute over the Heritage Tower. That’s the counties tallest building which is unfinished nearly 40 years after it was started. Both the County and Morningstar argued over whether it would be completed or demolished and even went into freedom violations that were alleged. In a release about the agreement, it ends all lawsuits in state and federal courts. Per documents that are now public, it gives Morningstar the right to apply for a permit to finish the tower. However, there are deadlines in the agreement, that if not adhered to would result in the whole structure taken down. The 21 story tower was started by Praise the Lord Ministries or PTL in 1986 but when Jim and Tammy Faye Baker declared bankruptcy, it has stayed unfinished even when Morningstar bought it 20 years ago.
