YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Historic Brattonsville will host their annual Candlelit Christmas Tour on December 14 and 15 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into how Christmas might have been celebrated during the American Revolution, with activities and entertainment set in 1780.

The tour will feature ongoing activities, including visits with Father Christmas, candle-dipping, and creating traditional German “scherenschnitte” snowflake ornaments. Guests can also enjoy live brass band and fiddle music, shop for holiday gifts from local artisans, and purchase concessions.

Timed tours require pre-registration, and visitors are encouraged to arrive early. The site will be closed to the public until 3 p.m. both days, and Brattonsville Road will close from 2:45 p.m. until 9 p.m. to ensure safe access for attendees.

For Culture & Heritage Museums members, tickets to the tour are free, and members are invited to an exclusive candlelit tour on Friday, December 13, featuring additional perks. Membership includes free admission to all Culture & Heritage Museums sites for a year.
