Attempted robbery in Rock Hill Wednesday, suspect in custody

An attempted robbery taking place in Rock Hill today. Police responded to the Wells Fargo on Celanese Road where officers were advised that a white male came into the bank and presented a note indicating a robbery was occurring. The suspect left after receiving cash from the teller. Officers responded to the scene and the adjacent areas to search for the suspect who fled on foot. Officers in the area after getting the description located the suspect on Matthews Drive. Eli Eason 27 of Clover was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Entering a Financial Institution with intent to Steal and booked into the Rock Hill Jail.No weapons were presented during the incident.
