A company that was set to bring more than 400 jobs to Rock Hill with a $443 million dollar investment appears to be dead. Per the Charlotte Business Journal, Pallidus out of New York cited “market conditions.” Pallidus is a silicon carbide manufacturer and was going to be in the Waterford area of Rock Hill at Overlook Drive. Launched in 2015, the company also works in green energy, and transportation. In a state from the City, they say it looks forward to the future recruitment efforts for that site and others.
