New Hotel to Boost Economic Growth in Downtown York

York, SC —Raines has partnered with the City of York to accelerate downtown economic growth by introducing the area’s first lodging market. The project will bring a 97-room Hampton Inn & Suites to South Congress Street in the city’s historic district, aiming to enhance tourism, job creation, and business opportunities.
“This substantial investment aligns with the City of York’s ongoing progress,” said City Manager Dalton Pierce, praising the collaborative effort between city officials, York County Economic Development, and other local stakeholders.
The hotel, designed by ODA Architecture, will blend with the historic district’s architecture and offer expanded meeting spaces for community events. Raines, a leader in the hospitality industry, emphasized that the hotel will play a crucial role in driving tourism and creating jobs. The project is set to open between late 2025 and early 2026.
“We believe our success is tied to the well-being of the communities we serve,” said Raines Managing Partner David Tart.
The new hotel, owned by York Hotel Group, LLC, is expected to contribute significantly to downtown York’s revitalization efforts.
