Novant Health lays off 90 workers in Indian Land

171 employees are being laid off in the Carolinas with a huge portion of those in the Charlotte area. Novant Health’s decision will effect 90 workers in Indian Land at Carolina Commons Drive. They are effective August 25th. The jobs impacted will be within the IT department with software engineers, developers, and analysts. In a statement Thursday, Novant told the Charlotte Observer that fewer than 300 workers of the 40,000 positions are impacted by the change. Its the second largest round of layoffs in 9 years after 160 jobs got cut in October. They have 16 medical centers with 800 outpatient facilities in both Carolinas.
